It’s HOT at the 2023 Spring Fling

On May 19th 2023, the HOT Team opened a booth in the Highland elementary “Spring Fling” annual event. The “Spring Fling” is a Family night and Fundraiser. Some activities at the “Spring Fling” include an obstacle course, a Photo booth, and the HOT team’s interactive booth. The booth showcased some unique aspects of the robotics team to the elementary schoolers at the “Spring Fling.” Some of the booths activities included Animal balloons, and allowing students to make their own buttons to wear. The robotics team also demonstrated some Robots to the student. The robots showcased was the 2022 Hot team robot which shot balls for the students to catch and allowed them to see a robot in action pick up balls and shoot them. As well as the Robot CASEY which is a fun bot that allows students to drive around and interact with elements of the robot, including an arm with a foam finger. Overall the event was a success with many students showing up and interacting with the robotics team and perhaps inspiring some of them to go into STEM later in life.
