A HOT Day for the Summer Road Clean up

On July 22nd, 2023 the HOT team helped clean up Commerce Road. We split up into two
groups in order to collect the trash lining both sides of the road, and were able to complete the
job in just 2 hours. Not only did we beautify our community, but we also combated important
environmental issues. Unfortunately, much of the waste that people leave on the side of the road
is not biodegradable, and trash buildup can be incredibly harmful to the natural world. When
trash is not disposed of properly it clogs rivers, harms wildlife, and even contaminates soil and
groundwater. By helping to clean up the road, the HOT team continued its efforts to make both
our community, and the planet, a better place to live.
