HOT Wheels at the HOT Team Autonomous Car Camp

by Aiden Z

Over the course of 3 days from August 1-3, elementary and middle school students attended the Autonomous Car camp, presented by FRC HOT Team 67. They were given electronic cars, equipped with Arduino boards, and learned how to program and modify them to complete given tasks. Such activities included using sensors to make the car park itself and follow lines on the ground, reading infrared signals to be remote controlled, and even utilizing Bluetooth technology to be able to be driven with an app on a phone.

The camp was a great experience for everyone, as the students were able to learn new things in the field of robotics and members of the robotics team were able to help out in the community and earn some volunteering hours. Everyone was pleased to work together to make the robots function and come to life.
